GNOME 2.29.91 Beta Available

From the GNOME Developers Mailing List comes the immediate release of GNOME 2.29.91, which includes the latest GNOME Shell release:

KDE 4.4.0 Software Compilation Codenamed Caikaku Released

The KDE developers have announced the latest release of the KDE Software Compilation branch. The newest release code named “Caikaku” is the 4th major release under KDE4, and brings in 7293 bug fixes along with a wealth of new features, and application sets, including a new authentication framework.

X.org 7.4.902 Released

The X.org development team announced the immediate development release of X.org 7.4.902. Heres’ from the announcement:
The biggest thing to note is the opening comment that the code will most likely be the same for 7.5, which means 7.5 should be out within the next few weeks.

Wine Development 1.1.38 Released

Wine HQ has released immediately Wine 1.1.38, which is considered to be a development release.

It’s “Coming Closer” KDE4.4 RC3 Released

As I reported earlier the KDE development team opted to release a 3rd out of schedule release candidate for KDE 4.4. This release was initially to test some building issues they ran into in RC2, but the sneaky little developers in their RC3 release announcement note that there were enough fixes post RC2 to warrant RC3.

Yesterday the KDE Developers were busy with announcements and here was another one with the release of KDE 4.3.5:

KDE Developers to Release RC3 for 4.4

Toma Albers, one of the KDE Developers sent out a note today that there will be an RC3 release for KDE 4.4, prior to the final release scheduled February 9th.

KDE 4.4 RC 2 “CampKDE” Released

Today the KDE team has released the second Release Candidate of KDE 4.4. This release is the final release prior to the scheduled Feb 9th release of KDE 4.4 Final.

BING! Apple Considering Switching Default Search on iPhone

Business Week is reporting that Apple is in talks with Microsoft to replace the Google, the current default search engine on the iphones, with Bing!.
Too me this is a major hit to Google in a monetary sense, since their base revenues are generated from Advertising income.

The Mozilla Foundation Developers have released to the wild Firefox 3.6. Which includes some awesome features like:
