Evernote 3.0.0 on Linux Using Wine
I recently started checking out some Notebook applications (web / client based ) and came across Evernote, which seemed pretty intriging. I saw that it had a MAC and Windows client, and quickly realized that they lacked a Linux Client. So I turned to wine, and downloaded the package. The wine installation went just fine, and most features that i’ve tested seem to work just fine.
Evernote’s web based system is also very good (although doesn’t support Opera). My next goal is to check out Google Notebook, Zoho Notebook and Evernote and i’ll list a nice pro / con and feature set of each when i’m done.
Hopefully soon Google Notebook will have the email to note feature.

how are the drawing features? I have a tablet and am converting it to linux … presumably the ink libraries aren’t ported to wine but maybe evernote doesn’t use them?
Alexei,
I haven’t yet checked the drawing features. I’ll give that a shot as I use them more indepth.
I so far have actually liked Google Notebook (since I just need a simple app).
I’ll keep you all updated, and will try more features like the drawing / adding pictures etc).
Ben
I found your blog via Google today. Thanks for confirming that EN works via Wine. I’m a happy camper now that I have my copy working in a cozy little bottle. This is how I like to run .exe files.
