Google Chrome goes Beta for Linux – openSUSE Fedora Ubuntu Debian

Today Google has annonced that Google Chrome is now in Beta for Linux thanks to the continued work and testing from the Chromium Project.

Google Chrome is go for beta on Linux! Thanks to the many Chromium and WebKit developers who helped make Google Chrome a lean, mean browsing machine. Here are a few fun facts from us on the Google Chrome for Linux team:

60,000 lines of Linux-specific code written
23 developer builds
2,713 Linux-specific bugs fixed
12 external committers and bug editors to the Google Chrome for Linux code base, 48 external code contributors

    That’s awesome. Do you happen to know if it will be in the Fedora repos?

    I would hope so. Currently openSUSE is deploying Chromium through their Contrib Build Service. I believe Fedora is doing something similar, although I’m not 100% sure which repository it is.

    However you can just download the RPM and use it that way :o ) .. It’s what I did, and will do later.
