KDE 4.4 w/ QT 4.6.0 KWin Global Shortcut Issues

Just FYI for the people who are looking to upgrade to KDE 4.4 using the KDE:KDE4:Unstable:Desktop repository..

There is a bug which has been reported here:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=216857

To where your Kwin Global Shortcuts will not work when you log on, you can regain the functionality by running:

killall kwin;kwin

Please stand by for an update.

thank you!!! it was driving me mad..

in the bug-comments there’s a hint that killing kwin isn’t neccessary

    kwin –replace

should work as well (will try on next login)

I think it is better to use kwin –replace (instead of killall kwin;kwin) and it works also!

Or even ‘kquitapp kwin && kwin’ as it can be a little less harsh than killall for KDE programs.
