  1. [...] Version Available works for you the same way as you have already done in previous release or use this for Zypper [...]

Thank you! Updated yesterday. Unfortuntely on opensuse 11.0, Okular crashes when attempting to load any pdf file – in 4.2 everything worked fine. The message is *** glibc detected *** okular: malloc(): memory corruption: 0x0826dab8 *** and backtrace follows.

    Hi,

Just upgraded to KDE 4.2 on openSUSE 11.1. I used your step by step guide.
But now neither the digital watch on the menubar or the analog widget clock work :(
The analog shows “0:00″ and the digital is just plain blank…

Any ideas to the cause of this problem ? and a solution ? :)

    Thank you in advance

    Henrik,

What version of KDE did you come from? 4.2 to 4.2.1? or 4.1.x to 4.2.1?
Have you tried to remove the widget and read?

    Reisub,

Try removing, and readding Okular (and clearing Okular config files in .kde4. I don’t have an issue on my test box with it.

Thank you for your reply. The crashing did not go away, though. I can manage without Okular, as there are other document viewers, although Okular works best for my needs. I can see there are many others complaining about Okular crashing and being basically unusable on bugs.kde.org – maybe it’s just a bug that needs to be fixed.

    Hi Ben,
I upgraded from the version shipping with the OpenSUSE 11.1 install DVD
I can’t remember what it was :( but I just read on their website that it is
    “KDE 4.1.3″

But it seems to go a little deeper than just related to that one widget.
I just tested the widgets that is selectable in the “Add widgets” dialog (Ctrl-a).
The twitter widget displays an error message “Failed to load twitter dataengine”…

Looks like I wasn’t the only one having problems, after installing
updates yesterday and today, everything seems fine.

    I love Linux :)

Jason, try to update Plasma and all other unupdated KDE-packets (that has a version of 4.1.3). After that the problem disappears.
