It’s “Coming Closer” KDE4.4 RC3 Released

As I reported earlier the KDE development team opted to release a 3rd out of schedule release candidate for KDE 4.4. This release was initially to test some building issues they ran into in RC2, but the sneaky little developers in their RC3 release announcement note that there were enough fixes post RC2 to warrant RC3.
Here’s an excerpt from their release announcement:

Yesterday the KDE Developers were busy with announcements and here was another one with the release of KDE 4.3.5:

KDE Developers to Release RC3 for 4.4

Toma Albers, one of the KDE Developers sent out a note today that there will be an RC3 release for KDE 4.4, prior to the final release scheduled February 9th.

KDE 4.4 RC 2 “CampKDE” Released

Today the KDE team has released the second Release Candidate of KDE 4.4. This release is the final release prior to the scheduled Feb 9th release of KDE 4.4 Final.

Linux Mint 8 “Helena” KDE RC1 Released

Today the Linux Mint team announced the immediate release of Linux Mint 8 RC1 codenamed Helena.
Linux Mint 8 RC1 KDE which is based on Kubuntu 9.10 will include the 2.6.31 branch of the Linux Kernel, KDE 4.3.4 and will feature Xorg 7.4 along with updates to it’s core open source applications.

Amarok 2.2.2 “Maya Gold” Released – openSUSE Repositories

The Amarok team proudly announced yesterday that Amarok 2.2.2 has been released. Only 2 months after the release of 2.2.1 and a few weeks after a beta release that was seen in December.

Configuring Plasma Theme KDE 4.4

I know when people install KDE 4.4, they’ll be wondering “Where do I configure my Plasma Theme Now”.
This is mostly in part because it was moved from the “Desktop Settings” into systemsettings.
Here’s a little pictorial on changing it:

KDE 4 Windows Switching Preview – openSUSE

I decided to check out the different Windows Switching options in KDE 4, and decided I’d give a little preview of the 5 different methods which are:

I found my favorite to be “Cover Switch” for some unknown reason.

Blogilo – The Blog Gigolo – KDE 4.4

I’ve recently come across the application Blogilo, which I from here on out will reference as the Blog Gigolo. Most of my blog posts I do in the wordpress backend, in a web browser since it’s what I knew.

Amarok 2.2.1.90 KDE 4.4 – Track Progressions

Recently I upgraded to Amarok 2.2.1.90 from 2.2.0 while testing out some KDE 4.4.
However, when I first started listening to the music I realized that my tracks were playing continuously and not randomly. So I went to the menu’s to change this setting (this is where I had previously changed it). But to my surprise there was nothing in any of the menu’s.
